The week ending 12 a.m. April 15, 1993, was described as one of low seismic activity in David Fowler's Geo Watch column in the San Francisco Chronicle: A mere 26 earthquakes registered higher than 1 on the Richter scale, and only nine registered two or more, with the biggest a paltry 2.7.
